Readers Theater

We are learning about Readers Theater.  We had to do a play and there was narrator one to six I played narrator one and there was also scruffy buddy and the parents of buddy, buddy is a bunny.  We had to go first.  The character called scruffy he is bad tempered.  Buddy he does the opposite to what his parents say like can you get me squash and he comes back with wash.  He parents also said take the path to the left and he took the right one instead of the left.  We had the biggest group we had six people and it was very hard and we also had to add some characters in too.  Some people had to do paper scissors rock to have the character.  We all got we bit muddled up when we practiced.  We all enjoyed doing the play and it was fun.  The Readers Theater was fun.
   

Last Day

Today is the last day and I have had a lot of fun and Miss Morgan she is really funny and a lot of fun!  Miss Morgan is really nice.   I have had a really nice time with Miss Morgan, Miss Waho and Mr C, Mr C is really funny Miss Waho is kind and funny too.  people in Rata class: Eliescha, Freedom, Keisha, Chelsea, Roxane, Hayley, Zoey, Mikayla, Skyla, Sophie, Latoiya, Nevaeh they are all my friends ad they are caring and they are kind to me. and they are kind to me.  I am going to be a year five next year and in Rata class the same class.  Today is there is going to be prize giving at one'o clock and i am really exited and the year six's are going to leave to another school and they will be in high school.            

Kapa Haka

Last night Gilberthorpe School did a Kapa Haka performance. The Kapa Haka performance was amazing we nailed it last night.  I like doing Kapa Haka.  We had to wear tattoos and we also had to wear these cool feathers in our hair.  We were first on the stage I was very nervous to be on first.  The lights were so bright and I didn't think that there would be so much people in the sets but there was like millions.  When it was time for Templeton school to go on it was the loudest of all we could even hear it from another room.  When we were finished afterwards I felt so happy.  I was in the second row so you can't really see me.  We didn't get to do all of the things we were meant to do we missed a few things.

Pet Day

Today we had Pet Day and I Brought my bunny Cookie he is a mini lop bunny and he is grey.   He also can do tricks one of his tricks he can walk on his two back feet.  He also plays with a cat toy and he chucks a toy around and passes it back to you.  He also loves his feet rubbed and his ears.  He loves being around people.  He is about four years old.

I loved pet day because you get to see all the different sorts of pets.

Add all the ingredients into a bowl then put a sprinkle of joy and put 13 cups of hugs. When you have finished that  drop in a dash of love. Grab a bottle of kindness after that you can put, 10 teaspoons of caring and mix it all together and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

My times tables

I am learning to do times tables.

My goal is to know my eleven and twelve times. They are a little bit hard.

My nine times tables are easy but when I get to my twelve and eleven they are going to be so hard but they will get easy once I get to know them.

Labor day!!

On labor day it was so exiting Hannah came for a play and we went to the park and I went to the rock climbing wall I tried to climb it but I couldn't and Hannah was half way when I was on the ground and so I just went around onto the steps that lead up to the slide.  When i went down the slide it took half a second to go down it and also it was steep.  Next Hannah and I went to the flying fox and when Hannah went down the flying fox it was very fast and I was getting very nervous. Then Hannah came holding the rope to pass it to me and I nervously jumped on and I was racing fast as a cheater down the flying fox. When I went back up to the tower where you go onto the flying fox I left the flying fox thing on the tower and then I went up the steps and then the flying fox was half way down it, so I had to race down it and get it again and then I brought it back and Hannah held it for Mum held the rope for me and here comes the scary part I jumped on and I was not on the seat I yelled "AHHHHHHH" and Hannah came running and half way I was down and mum caught the rope and then put me down and then I ran and I was very scared and then I went to the swing and then Hannah came with me on the swings.  Then after that I asked if we could go home and then on the way it took ages because f the traffic.  Hannah's
parents were meant to come at four thirty but they came they  five thirty.      

Dream Project!!

                                               We are making a fairy garden to play in and we are going to make it come real. I think it is a really good idea and it is going to look good when it is finished. We are going to have blossom trees and also a maple tree they are really cool we also are having a creeping fuchsia.  There is also going to be a tree stump with stones painted like a bee and lady bugs too.  There is also a lady bug crossing and a spiral path way i think it is going to be really awesome.  We are going to use bird baths and put little fairy houses in them.  There is going to gold glitter on the trees.  And there is going to be roses made out of ribbon with silver glitter in them and at the end I think it is going to turn out awesome and my dad is going to bring some paving for pixie hollow! We are also going to have a maple tree and a blossom tree and the maple tree is going to look really cool and the blossom tree because the pettles on the tree.

Athaletics day

Yay it is Friday Athletics day!!! I love Athletics day it is so fun because you do lots of different stuff like Long jump, High jump,sprints,discus,shot put,and distance my favorite one is High jump.  The first event I went to was shot put it was hard but at the end I got the hang of it I went to the second come with the number two We had enough time to have another turn and I was still on two.  Next I went to long jump I was exited to do long jump because it is easy that is what I thought but it wasn't at all you had to be marked by your back foot that is why you always land with two feet together.  Next it was time to go to the next one it was discus it was very hard you had to do it the correct way.  Next I did sprints, it was very fun and I kept on running and running I was coming fourth.  But you had to come one two three to get a number i guess I'm lucky because I don't want to go to zones! it will be so hard.  

                                          My goal next time is to come first second or third.

Dream project update!!!

We are learning to create gardens and do measurements in the dream project. It is so hard and tricky and we have to work as a team mostly we don't.  We have so much space 10.8m and we are going to have this really cool mushroom ring and we are having a pretty garden and it is going to look amazing!!
We also had to paint flat rocks and made then as lady bugs and they look very cool at the moment.  We are having little bird baths and putting little fairy houses in them.  

I think it is going to look very good and we are having  a spiral path that is going in the middle and around it is going to be the bird baths with the little houses.  We are also having a noughts and crosses with the painted rocks that are yellow and red at the moment, soon we have to paint the details on them.  We are also going to have a spiral path that is going to be so awesome.  we are going to have bricks around the edges.

  

Writing

We are learning to use full stops, capital letters, adjectives and verbs.
We do writing and oral language and we have to watch a video and do describing words for what has happened and use describing words for it.  We also have to wright a story about what happened in the story and we work with a buddy and work together on a story.  We have to use verbs and adjectives in the story that we do.  I like writing and oral language.  We also do activity's like we have a pitcture and make a sentence up with the words.     This is the story Zoey and I did.



It was a dark and stormy night. There was a monster lurking around in a stinky swamp  “ewwww”
There was a little boy that was walking around in the dark woods and he was all alone and know one was around and he fell  like someone, was watching him.  He just noticed that it was, a full moon and he could hear wolves howling at the full moon.  All of a sudden the ,Marshmallow monster jumped out of the swamp making a huge SPLASH!!! After the little boy heard the Splash he jumped  with, a fright.  Then the gooey stinky monster stared at the little boys yummy packet of marshmallow. Then the little boy gave the  stinky swamp monster gave him the cute, puppy eyes, then the boy chucked him one marshmallow and then, he gave him more and more then  was only one left and then the, marshmallow and chomp he ate the marshmallow then the boy, yelled so hard.“Ahhhhhh help help” But nobody was around to help him. Then the monster shook his head and the boy fell down.  Then he ran and got his pillow and put it on  a stick. After that he throw the pillow out into the frost. After that the boy runs the opposite way of the monster out to the other side of the forest and then the monster tries to roast the marshmallow. When he tries to roast the pillow i sent up into flames and then it turned into ashes.  After the  pillow went into ashes the Monster started crying.  

 

Matific

We are leaning to multiply and do fractions.  The other day all of rata class tried this awesome new games it is called Matific and is is fun and you earn cards of monsters every time you get 500 clovers.  I really like Matific.  I'v only been on Matific a couple of times but is very fun.  Here is the link.

There is also a bonus level that is really cool I like it.  I'm on level five and every time you get clovers your treasure box gets filled up more and more then you get a monster card when it is all filled up then you pick a random card but it is facing the other way.    

                      My goal is to get all of the monster cards by the end of the year.

Shading Maori art

We are learning to shade and do tones. Today I did a Tiki and I also did a wale tail and hook and Koru.  The wale tail means speed and strength the Koru means new beginning and hope and peace then the Tiki means good luck and the fish hook means safety over water.  I like shading because it makes it look 3D and it looks really cool.

House of lego

We are learning to build zoos and gardens.  Skyla and I  liked the garden the best but it took the longest to make.  I really like Lego but you have be patient. Its very hard but I got the hang of it.  It was hard to find all the little peaces.  We had a choice between making a zoo or a  building.  I like the garden the best because of the detail on it.  Skyla placed the trees down and I made the flowers around the edges and the path way.  I learn that you can use lots of imagination.  There is about 3,000 pieces of lego, that is a lot of lego!!!  This is like a forest and a garden mixed. We half way finished it and it was so much fun I would never be able to  get that much lego.  We also did another building and we didn't get to finish it.

Typing club

The other day we tried a new typing thing were you can not look and it is very tricky.  I like it better than typing skills because we can learn to type with out looking and also because they are a lot harder and you can learn better.  And I've got five stars in all of them and the goal is five stars typing club is quite cool.  I'm on level 13 all ready it very fun and there is a picture of a key board so you can look at that while typing up words I like it.  My goal is to get to the end of the levels and by the end of the year type with out looking that will be pretty cool.  And it also shows you your speed while you are doing it.  And also I like it because it's a lot harder plus how many seconds you are doing I think it is cool.  If you get something wrong they make a sound.    

The thing I found challenging was not to look and keep your hands in the same place all the time.

I learnt that people in the Olympics  do so many events they will be so exhausted and tired.

I learnt that people in the Olympics  do so many events they will be so exhausted and tired.

Little garden

Today we are learning about planting and I'm growing  carrots. This is a few tips I learnt.

.The sprouting time is 6-21 days

. It takes 60-80 days to harvest the carrots

.You have to keep the carrots in the right sort of room temperature until they start sprouting.

.Once they have spouted plant them in a bigger pot or the garden. Make sure to put lots of soil over it.  
This is how I planted my seeds.

I put it in a plate and put water over it but not to much or it will drown.  Next I mushed it up and scooped it into the pot.  Last but not least I put the seedlings into the soil and put more dirt over that too.  What I like about planting is getting to see how they grow.  Make sure you put it in a bigger pot when it starts to grow.  

It's going to take  awhile to grow but the holidays are coming up.  I can't wait to plant in the garden soon!

My running Anthem

My anthem for running is for the start of a race I found it hard.I made a song up it was so tricky it took me about 2 days to think of it.

                               I think I did really well at this. 

Typing skills

  I think Im getting better at typing skills my goal is to get 100% hopefully ill get it by the end of the year.

This morning I learnt seven different countries national anthems it was a bit tricky to find them. New Zealand,China,Fiji,Australia,Africa,America,India.

I enjoyed learning all the different countries national anthems.
