What is st Patrick's day for?

Hey people!
I am learning about st  Patrick's day.
I wondered what it was for since it was coming up.
This is what I learnt.
 For St  Patrick's day they have a global celebration of Irish culture on or around about march 17th. It particularly  remembers St Patrick, one of Ireland's patron saints, who ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century.
                                                        This is what I learnt.

    Hey Emalea, great post. I can see what you wanted to know and what you found out! I wonder why you have chosen a four leaf clover? Which subject did you learn this in? Or did you work on it at home?
